We are thrilled to share that our founder, Vuyokazi Jamieson, delivered an inspiring virtual speech to five high schools in Makhanda, South Africa, as part of Career Day 2024. This event was a powerful collaboration between Project XXI and the St Andrew's College Community Engagement initiative, headed by the remarkable Ncumisa Mzaza.Vuyokazi's words ignited hope, ambition, and a sense of purpose in the hearts of these young minds. Her journey and vision are a testament to what can be achieved through dedication and community support. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for the youth of South Africa.A huge thank you to 🎥Shotsbynoah_sa for capturing this impactful moment. Our Story

Vuyokazi Jamieson

As the daughter of a single mother who was an educator and a storyteller, I have grown up looking at the world through the wonderful lens of literacy. I have been in the library and information science profession for over 21 years and ‘Project 21’ emerged as a result of my experiences on the job throughout this period. The overall aim of ‘Project 21’ is to try and eradicate illiteracy in my home province of the Eastern Cape, and then throughout South Africa. I hope to uplift the existing poor reading standards and encourage a love of reading in both adults and children.
